Stiles doesn't even mean for it to happen. One moment he's throwing sticks through the air waiting for Derek and his pack to be finished with their wolfy meeting that he isn't allowed to attend, even though he still has to go out to the house because he's Scott's ride, how is that fair?
And the next Derek is racing out the door and chasing after the stick Stiles had just thrown. Jackson and Scott go racing after him and there's a brief wrestle before Scott has the stick and goes running back to Stiles, a huge grin on his face.
Stiles bites back the giggles, accepts the stick, and throws it again. Jackson looks put out so he picks up another stick and hurls it in the opposite direction. The only description that can be used for the noise that comes out of Jackson's mouth is yip and he too goes racing after the stick.
Derek's gone missing, and Stiles isn't that worried, too preoccupied with Jackson and Scott and playing fetch.
After a few minutes, Derek wanders up from the forest and sits down on the stoop beside Stiles.
"Say anything about this and I'll rip-"
"My throat out with your teeth. You really need to get some new threats. SCOTT!! Whoosa good boy. That's right, you are. Get the stick Scott, get the stick." Stiles cheers and takes the next branch offered from Jackson, who apparently doesn't see anything wrong with this.
Derek buries his head in his hands and Stiles pats his shoulder.
"I'd make some sort of comment about how you were the first one out the door when I was throwing sticks, but I like my throat just where it is."
