Title: Draco Malfoy and the Unpleasant Houseplant
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 300
Pairings: Harry/Draco
Disclaimer: I own nada
Summary: There are reasons why wizarding plants should generally be avoided
A/N: Zee crack it lives, also unbeta'd
Draco Malfoy had lived his whole life in the wizarding world so odd sights were pretty much commonplace for him. At least that was until his house was invaded by it
Draco glared at the sunflower currently lounging against his windowsill, dirt flecked roots waving as if it had nary a care in the world. On first glance anyone would think the thing just another oddity of the magical world and they would be wrong.
Unequivocally, undoubtedly wrong.
“Don’t you have others you can annoy?” Draco hissed at it, frowning when a green leaf flicked in what was unquestionably a rude gesture
The flower pushed itself upright, one small leaf resting on its root.
Draco’s eyes narrowed when its petal head focused on him “What?” he questioned
The flower hopped down from its perch, skittering behind the pot it slept in before returning with a shining package that it began to wave from side to side, ignoring Draco’s thunderous expression.
“Where in Merlin’s name did you fine that you little pervert?” Draco spluttered as it dropped the thing, small roots digging at the edges “Stop that!” he ordered
The little flower took no notice, instead flailing with glee as the package ripped. Pulling its prize upright it shoved the lower half of its stem into the half open foil before yanking the plastic over its petals.
Draco snickered at the sight, even though he knew he shouldn’t encourage the miscreant’s actions.
“How the hell does it keep finding those?” A familiar voice enquired from behind him and Draco turned to face his husband with a smirk
“Let this be a lesson to you Potter,” he lectured glancing at where the flower was attempting to wrestle its way out of its self-made prison “When acquiring houseplants always check the warnings.”
